Manual Osteopaths use soft tissue techniques, joint mobilizations and muscle energy techniques to help relieve pain and dysfunction within the body. We offer manual osteopathic assessments and treatments. The assessment is an initial one hour appointment to identify problem areas causing pain, tightness or inflammation. This will include a brief medical history, as well as collection of patient information. Following an assessment, our manual osteopathic treatments are 30 or 45 minutes long and includes treatments of structures identified during the assessment.

Jess is the owner of Cape Shore Health and offers manual osteopathy treatments at OceanView Wellness Centre. She has a Bachelor of Science in Human Kinetics from STFX, a diploma in occupational therapy and physiotherapy assistance from NSCC and most recently a diploma in Osteopathic Manual Practice from the National Academy of Osteopathy in Toronto.

As the first practitioner to offer manual osteopathy in Cape Breton, Jess assesses a patient’s entire body to determine what is causing the dysfunction or pain. She then treats the main cause in order to realign the body to provide relief and resolve the issue.

When she’s not making a difference with her osteopathy treatments, Jess can be found spending time with her friends and family and loves hanging out with her two energetic border collies, Duke and Rye. She admittedly can’t live without her phone and has an rather profound favourite quote - Maturity is realizing how many things don’t require your comment.
